What is the PBIA?

In an effort to improve the downtown, the City of Olympia assesses a special annual fee for businesses located in downtown (non-profits and residents are exempt). These funds are to be spent exclusively for improving the downtown in the areas of:

  1. Downtown Parking Improvements - to address the concern for downtown Olympia businesses and propery owners, as well as patrons and employees.
  2. Clean and Safe Program - making downtown cleaner, more welcoming and improve the public's perception of safety.
  3. Civic Beautification and Sign Program - an overall beautification program.
  4. Business Recruitment and Retention Program
  5. Commercial Marketing Program

 

Get Involved
The PBIA Advisory Board meets several times a month. The meeting schedule is listed in the calendar section of the website to see the dates and locations of the board meetings. We welcome all interested parties to attend meetins. There is a brief Public communication period during the first 15 minutes of the meeting for your voice to be heard. Each commentor is lmited to 3 minutes, however your voice and opinion is very important to the board. Please be prepared to offer your communication and please honor the boards meeting schedule. Your topic if required will be aded to the boards future meeting agenda for review.
